International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

October 17, 2018 @ 12:00 am - October 18, 2018 @ 12:00 am

free

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty has been observed every year since 1993, when the General Assembly designated this day to promote awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries. This day presents an opportunity to acknowledge the effort and struggle of people living in poverty, a chance for them to make their concerns heard, and a moment to recognize that poor people are the first ones to fight against poverty.  The theme for 2018 is Theme: “Coming together with those furthest behind to build an inclusive world of universal respect for human rights and dignity”.
