Educational Development

The goal of the Educational Development Committee is to partner with other committees within the Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter, parents, the community and other organizations in the development and implementation of programs and activities that augment the public school education received by students of color in our service area.

Educational Development will continue providing social and academic enrichment opportunities for our participants. Our goal/theme this year is Empowerment! The curriculum utilized in our program will empower our students to actively engage with others, through activities that enhance their educational, emotional and social experiences as well as expand their vision and opportunities. This goal will be accomplished with collaboration, innovation, and self-discovery.

Dr. Jeanne L. Noble GEMS Institute

High School female students ages 14-18, Grades 9-12

The primary goals of the Dr. Jeanne L. Noble GEMS Institute are to provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success and to assist in the proper goal setting, decision making and planning for their futures. It is also our goal for the participants to discover and appreciate the role that education, self-esteem and community play in reaching your fullest potential. We hope to accomplish this goal by giving personal and group attention to the young ladies, while promoting the principles of Scholarship, Service and Sisterhood.
