The International Awareness and Involvement Committee is charged with developing and implementing programs that educate the local community on the issues of HIV/AIDS, Human Trafficking, and Food Security. We also promote Cultural Awareness and support national initiatives as identified by Grand Chapter.
ASAC’s International Awareness and Involvement Committee strives to:
- Execute collaborative programming with Project Impact to prevent human sex trafficking as well as advocate for and support awareness
- Plan and execute AIDS/HIV Awareness initiatives
- Partner with other organizations in metro Atlanta to bring awareness to human trafficking issues and providing forums to disseminate information to others about human trafficking
The ASAC commitment to encourage cultural awareness and involvement has been demonstrated by its past projects and future initiatives which include the following programs:
- World AIDS Day
- Black HIV/AIDS Day
- Fall HIV Senior Outreach
- Healthy for the Holidays (Education to the senior demographic about HIV, AIDS and STDs)
- Human Sex Trafficking Awareness Month
- Human Sex Trafficking School Outreach
- Human Sex Trafficking Legislative Outreach
